US Workboats has been actively building marine survey boats for the past two decades. Having produced many research vessels of various sizes and capabilities, our trend has been one of continuous innovation and improvement. As a result, US Workboats has achieved distinction in the tight-knit hydrographic community. Our builds reflect thoughtfulness and care in listening to the needs of our clients.
The primary advantages of our catamarans over other boat types are:
US Workboats is committed to producing the highest quality and most cost effective boats of the marine science industry.
US Workboats has partnered with Ross Laboratories to provide a “turnkey” shallow water survey system. The system utilizes six transducers: two hull mounted and two on each of the 10 foot cabin side integrated arms. Yielding a 25 foot swath of survey data collection capability, the arms are deployed hydraulically from controls mounted at the helm station. The catamaran hull includes integrated side pockets to house the sweep arms and allows the boat to be trailered. The combined stability and maneuverability of the catamaran hull allows for easy navigation in shallow waterways and rivers and maintains a dependably comfortable ride in rough water conditions.View Specs
This vessel has everything you need for a long day of work. Stern Gantry, port side Davit, 2 survey stations, head package and a galley package allow time and comfort for a full day of data gathering and analysis. Pair that with powerful engines and durable welded aluminum construction and you will have a vessel that will meet your needs long in to the future.View Specs
Diesel propelled catamarans offer ample torque and horsepower, enabling scientists to accomplish crucial survey tasks efficiently and accurately. In addition, these vessels provide cabin heat and power take-off for hydraulics. The larger catamarans are available in two configurations - planing and displacement. The planing catamarans are best propelled with water jets and the displacement catamarans work best with standard shaft and wheel, recessed in tunnels for protection.
The catamaran work deck maximizes the usable space for crew and gear. Under 40' in length, not a single vessel has the same working area as a US Workboats. Deck options include A-frames, davits, winches, cranes and moon pools to suit the gear of each operator. The cabin holds multiple work stations with cable ways and wire runs through special enclosures to the exterior of the boat. The hard working community on the water chooses US Workboats for these reasons.View Specs
Operators around the planet choose US Workboats catamarans for efficiency and stability. The exceptional sea-leaping of our vessels keep survey crews comfortably working in conditions that are normally "no go" days. Getting the work done faster and gathering cleaner data while underway results in savings no other platform can offer. The head and galley options provide the crew with creature comforts of a modern office space. Getting to the survey grounds has never been faster or more comfortable.View Specs
