Finish Carpenter

We are seeking highly motivated individuals who have experience as trim carpenters and meet the requirements below. Job Description:

  • Cut and shape wooden components using saws, planers, and sanders
  • Assemble wooden components to form structures using jointers and nail guns
  • Design and implement the blueprint for a wood construction project
  • Read and interpret the plan/sketch of a carpentry undertaking
  • Carry out the scribing of moldings to allow for proper fitting on even or uneven surfaces
  • Perform the levelling and trimming of doors and windows using implements such as power sanders and planers
  • Carry out the construction of cabinets and built-in bookshelves
  • Engage in the staining and varnishing of wooden products and fixtures
  • Install crown moldings and trim for doors, windows, and baseboards
  • Fabricate customized woodworks that serve as accessories necessary for the finishing of a carpentry structure
  • Prepare the cost estimate of materials and labor require for a trimming/finishing project
  • Oversee the selection and purchase of raw materials needed for construction to ensure the use of appropriate wood type

Marine Mechanic/Service Technician

Responsibilities Include:

Production Engineer

Position Overview:

The Production Engineer designs vessels to meet customer and production specifications. This position works closely with the Plant Manager and Production to resolve any engineering related concerns. This is an hourly position.

Relationships:

Works directly with the Production Engineering Manager, Plant Manager, Production Leads, and Project Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Analyze proposal sketches, specifications, related data and drawings to determine vessel arrangements.
  • Plan and create engineering drawings according to project requirements.
  • Review vessel design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and regulatory specifications.
  • Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
  • Evaluate design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Approve nonconformance disposition as appropriate.
  • Provide support to the production area.
  • Using complex computer models, design all elements (e.g., structure, equipment, systems, and their components) of vessels to integrate the basic design features and the desired characteristics of the boat as a whole.
  • Attend builder’s sea trial, making recommendations as appropriate.
  • Perform general engineering and structural calculations as well as naval architectural calculations
  • Check technical accuracy of work
  • Communicate with the sales and production teams as needed, troubleshooting problems related to engineering
  • Create CNC cut files.
  • Attend and contribute to required meetings

Position Overview:

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for purchasing boat components and other materials as directed. This position also handles creating purchase orders, maintaining relationships with vendors, communicating delivery schedules for items. Quality Assurance Welding Inspector

As an integral part of the US Workboats Quality Department working with our Fabrication and Welding teams, you will be responsible for completing inspections and tests to ensure all quality standards are met in our fabrication processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review quality requirements for individual jobs to ensure requirements are understood and implemented
  • Experience with dimensional inspection and documenting results
  • Ensure tolerances are held by performing visual and dimensional inspection of finished product
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation and checklists for all inspections or tests in the welding and fabrication process
  • Experience working with one or more of the following American Welding Society Codes (AWS): D1.1, D1.2
  • Self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently to establish procedures
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working in a fabrication shop environment and knowledge of fabrication practices a plus
  • Print reading skills, able to read and interpret work orders, blueprints and weld prints
